Racial profiling and discrimation
In a country where tensions are already high, you would think that a gay friendly club would be a place where people would be able to forget the challenges that we face as a country. However, being subjected to racial profiling and accused of being drug dealers simply because we are an interracial couple is dumbfounding. I would seriously question the management's choice of security - who are currently not skilled or equipped to deal with the affections of an interracial couple, or the objective questions posed challenging this discrimination. The security guard in question, Bjorn Carolus, not only refused to apologize but was threatening to both of us. An absolutely humiliating and offensive experience. As a respected individual in the media (and my boyfriend an attorney), further action will be taken and this will surely not be the last of this issue.
fun
New fun busy place, gay, straight ( lot of girls). Over 2 floors on saturdays. Top chart music. Sexy ( mostly straight) and friendly bartenders.
Exciting times
Cape town "mother-city" has needed crew too become an icon club. It has set a new standard to gay clubs, wait all clubs in cape town, yes it's purely gay with strippers on the bar, ridiculously hot barmen, not too mention that manager, the one with the tattoo on his shoulder (you know the one I mean) the music is amazing (yet lacking new tunes if you a local too the club) and generally attracts a up-beat crowd, which is always a plus. I must say the adrenalin rush that you receive in crew bar is very much the same too a casino, you forget about time and you love the feeling. A job well done!
