This fancy restaurant has been visited by dignitaries and luminaries, and for good reason. Chic ambiance, impeccable service, great bar and winning food come together to create the toast of Cape Town at Beluga.

especially good for outside dining
although also a bit more formal inside the outside tables are in a great spot, out of the wind and with heaters and coolers depending on the time of the year and the time of the day. In winter special menus (ask for them when not presented). Reasonably prices and good food!
over rated
been twice and both times a terrble service, food served still frozen in the middle and waiters with attitude. Beluga's sister restaurant on the Waterfront is far better!!
top
Years after years during layover on capetown, i keep returning to Belunga, great place, great food, great staff. Alsi the Sunday half price cocktails and sushi are a must for brunch!
Fabulous
Another great place to eat, with a fantastic interior to match. I never know what to order so get the waiter to do it for you with a taster menu.
Romantic Oasis
From Springbok to Sushi, Beluga has it all. Outdoor dining in the middle of an old, brick foundry's courtyard surrounded by trendy South Africans who look like they just stepped out of a magazine. The pepper crusted beef fillet and slow braised lamb shoulder were so good that my bf and I returned two days later for more. Reservations are a must, a short walk from Waterkant gay bars and hotels. Tip: ask for one of the restaurant's snuggly blankets as you and your honey toast each other over a very reasonably priced South African wine.
