Initially his interest was in creating music, but after experiencing the various vibes that clubbing in London, Leeds, Ibiza and North Carolina (USA) had to offer, he tried his hand at mixing. Groovy Q was soon cutting his teeth on the wheels of steel at private parties in and around London. On his return home in 2000, he scored South African residencies at AKWA and Purple Fly, where he ventured into the commercial genre, but soon returned to his true sound - a melting pot of Funky, Vocal, French and Disco house when joining the resident DJ line-up at Therapy/GASS. His style of music is laid back, jazzy and always fresh - mixing French House, New York styled Vocal Garage, and a little UK Two Step. He also includes some of his own tracks in his sets, and his trademark signature is house remixes of Sade. Groovy Q has played alongside local DJ’s including Stuart Hillary, Coco Loco, Mark Stent, Sista C, Thelma Klensch, Tasha Baxter, M’buso, Brian Banshee, Lady Lea, DJFKA, Doctor Stone, Lalicia, Trevthedev, Prince Vince, Delon Palm, Fluid, Warren Louder, Groove Element, Angelo, MissRed, Maximillian, Alan Inferno, Amanda, Blue Nova, Brett Jackson, Bren, C4, Dr Stone, Bart Marley and Flash Republic, plus Roger Goode, Erica Elle, Kevin Grenfell and Katherine all of 5FM. He has also mixed alongside international DJ’s, recently opening for Stephan Pompegnaque (Hotel Costes), Jose Padilla (Café Del Mar) and Ravin (Buddah Bar) plus Alan X (X-Trax), Mark Bambach & Luigi Rosso (Coco Latte), Femi B, Tony Finger, D’syfa (Bukola) and Beat Boy Pete. He has also worked with Tasha Baxter, Jennifer Jones, Vernon Joel, Black Rabbit, Pam Andrews Jozi All Stars and Bukola (UK) having them perform and sing live over his DJ sets on various occasions. JP Silver JP Silver is a Cape Town based DJ. He has been in the entertainment industry for 18 years, 11 of which spent as full-time event promoter and DJ, with over 1200 gigs to his credit. Although he specializes in Electro Swing these days, JP can cater to most crowds with a variety of genres. His act often includes instrumentalists, visuals (projected or on screen) and dancers (Belly Dancers, Swing or Burlesque). He hosted The Swing Café Radio show on Mutha (Mother) FM from 2012 - 14, opened for the likes of Just Jinjer and DJ Fresh, been a major feature at events like the City of Cape Town Heritage Day 2014 Celebrations at the Castle, the annual Vintage Obs Day (2014 & 15), The Dusty Rebels & The Bombshells Rockabilly Festival 2014 and the Swingstar Mansion. In addition to a busy schedule of club gigs, festivals and corporate and private functions, JP holds residencies at the Bootleggers Electro Swing parties (founder), with the Trash Cabaret circus band and at The Piano Bar in De Waterkant. Django Django Flaherty is a DJ and electronic musician from Cape Town, South Africa. As a DJ, he's best known for electro-swing, tech house and funk (oldskool funk as well as nufunk/ghetto funk). He plays private functions on a regular basis, and holds a weekly residence at the Polana in Kalk Bay (seaside restaurant/bar in Cape Town).
